Lee Ann Townsend Thomas

Lee Ann Townsend Thomas was called to be home with the Lord on September 27, 2026.

Lee Ann was born December 19, 1938, to Irene and Juell Townsend in Kelso, Washington. Lee Ann graduated from Kelso High School in 1957 and had many friends and was active at school.

She moved to Seattle in 1958 and became a buyer at the Bon Marché. She married her high school sweetheart Ted Thomas in 1960. Daughter Kathleen was born in Seattle. The family moved 13 times in the next five years living all over the country. Daughter Teresa in born in Albany, Georgia. The family then moved to Rochester, New York where son Todd was born. The family was then complete. Of course, being long-time dog lovers, the family had many wonderful canine companions over the years.

Lee Ann went back to school when Todd was three years old to become a Registered Nurse. She worked in the Rochester area as a nurse for the next 20 years. Her clients loved her. Lee Ann & Ted were very active in their church in Rochester (Pinnacle Lutheran Church), volunteered for many years at the Henrietta Volunteer Ambulance, and delighted in their many friends and neighbors.

Ted & Lee Ann retired in 1993 moving back to Washington State (Olympia area). They were active in their church, Capitol City Newcomers, and Lee Ann was active in the Chapter EG of P.E.O. They also played a lot of bridge and were exceptionally good players—both individually and as a couple.

Lee Ann is survived by her beloved husband Ted of 66 years, daughter Kathleen (George), Teresa (Mike), and Todd, as well as her only grandson Forrest. She is survived by many sisters and brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Lacey, WA on October 31, 2026, at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Christian School Scholarship Program
