Sandra Kay Romberger, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, wife, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026, in Lacey, Washington. She was born on October 24, 1955, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Richard and Rita Fuhrman, both of whom preceded her in death.
Sandra graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in La Palma, California, class of 1973. She continued her education at Cypress College in Cypress, California, completing the Radiology program. She went on to build a meaningful career in healthcare, earning credentials as a Registered Health Information Technician and a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality in Seattle, Washington. Throughout her career, Sandra worked in healthcare, including at Qualis Health of Seattle for 25 years, Evergreen Hospital, and Overlake Hospital. She was dedicated to her work and to helping others.
On August 30, 2008, Sandra married Rodney Romberger at Wedgewood Community Church. Together they made their home in Lacey, Washington for the past 14 years.
Sandra was a woman of many interests and talents. She loved gardening, sewing, cooking and baking, and especially crocheting beautiful baby blankets for loved ones. She enjoyed musical theater and plays, traveling, playing Bunco and Mexican Train, and cheering on her favorite Seattle teams, the Mariners and the Seahawks. Her creativity, humor, and generosity brought joy to those around her.
Her faith and church community were also an important part of her life. Sandra faithfully served as a church Clerk of Session and on the church Personnel Committee, giving her time and talents in service to others.
Sandra will be remembered for her thoughtful and caring nature, her kind heart, wonderful sense of humor, generosity, organizational skills, and unwavering support of the people she loved. She had a gift for making others feel cared for and valued, and her presence brought warmth and laughter to the lives of many.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Rodney Romberger; her daughters, Janel Salinas and Kathleen Triolo and her husband, Mario Triolo; her son, Jeff Salinas; her brother, Steve Fuhrman and his wife, Lorri Fuhrman; her sister, Linda Harris; and her grandchildren, Aaliyah Salinas, Siena Triolo, and Luca Triolo. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Rita Fuhrman, and her sister, Debbie Norris.
