Celia Diaz Martinez
May 25, 1940 — Aug 25, 2026
Celia Diaz Martinez, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and faithful servant of God, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on August 25th, 2026, at the age of 86.
Born in Guadalajara, Mexico on 05/25/1940 to parents Margarito Diaz & Maria Verdin to a family of 10 children.
For many years, she dedicated her life to the service of others as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant (CNA). This was not merely a career, but a true calling. She possessed a rare gift of bringing comfort to the suffering, holding the hands of the lonely, sick and offering a gentle smile and care to those in need and leading some to the Lord!
Above her career she put her family first. Her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren were the center of her world, loving, supporting and praying for them always!
She had a profound love for music and dancing, always quick to turn up a favorite song (they all seemed to be her favorite!) and move to the rhythm. Whether it be music in Spanish, Mariachi music or her Christian praise music and hymns.
More than anything Celia loved the Lord, her deep Christian faith guided her every step and with prayers always on her lips. Her family takes great comfort knowing that she is now resting peacefully in the arms of her Heavenly Father, dancing at their joyous reunion and her mind fully restored.
Her family wishes to thank Nancy & Antony and the many dedicated caregivers at Lianne’s Villa AFH, her Life Pointe Church family & friends that supported and prayed for her as her world became affected by her dementia.
She is survived by her three loving children & their families, Linda (Doug) Blacker, Gloria (Brett) Young & her favorite and only son Mark. Her cherished grandchildren, Michelle (Anthony) Budzinski, Melissa (Nate) Gates, Nicole (Kevin) Pergola, Christopher (Meaghan) Lemons & Nathaniel Young. Her beloved great grandchildren, Ty, Samuel, Holly, Eva, Jonathan & Gabriella. Her sisters Ester, Elvira & Engracia and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration in her memory will be determined at a later date.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” 2 Timothy 4:7
