Dennis E. Knopp

Dennis E. Knopp, 81, passed away peacefully at home in Olympia, Washington, on September 2, 2026, surrounded by his family. 

Dennis grew up in Vancouver and spent his life in the Pacific Northwest. He graduated from Hudson Bay High School and Clark College and proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He spent 30 years working for Washington State Employment Security Department, dedicating much of his career to public service. 

Dennis shared 62 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Janet. Together, they built a family and a life filled with love, travel, and memories.  

Dennis was known for the ability to tell a good story, a gift that brought laughter, connection and warmth to those around him. He loved golf, travel, spending time with family. He was a loyal Seattle sports fan who enjoyed watching the Seahawks and Mariners. 

Dennis is survived by his wife, Janet Knopp; his daughters, Kelli Knopp and Jody Costello (Mikel); three grandchildren, Kelcey, Kody and Anthony; one great grandchild, Aryian; and his brother Curtis Knopp (Jane). 

His memory will live on in the stories he told and the love for his family.
