Gregory T. Jasperson
Jul 17, 1959 — Jul 2, 2026
Gregory T. (Greg) Jasperson was born July 17, 1959 in Seattle, Washington to Ronald and Audrey (Simmons) Jasperson. He died July 02, 2026 in Olympia, Washington, of advanced Parkinson's.
Greg went to Griffin Elementary and graduated from Tumwater High School, and then attended Linfield College. He briefly worked for the Washington State Superintendent of Public Instruction, then worked for the Department of Social and Health Services. He soon moved to Employment Security, where he worked for more than thirty-five years in various positions in Information Technology.
He lived the true spirit of community service, serving on the board of the local Community Action Council for many years until rapidly advancing Parkinson's limited his ability to serve. Greg contributed to many local charities, including the Monarch Children's Justice and Advocacy Center.
Greg was an avid gardener, and could grow houseplants that no one else could keep alive. He attended as many concerts by his favorite bands as he could get to, and enjoyed attending the productions put on by the local theater groups. A talented trumpet player, he sometimes played in the orchestras of various local productions.
He loved good wines and enjoyed shopping the various wine shops for local vintages and sourcing good cheeses for his annual Valentine's Day wine and cheese party.
The highlight of his summers were the annual family vacations to Cannon Beach with as many family members as could get there.
Greg's quiet good nature and generous spirit will be missed, both by his family and his many, many friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd at 11: am on Saturday, September 12, 2026. (Location: 1601 North St SE, Olympia, WA 98501.) (Across North street from Olympia Highschool.)
Greg is survived by his wife of 23 years, Connie (Johnson) Jasperson, his ex-wife Suzanne (Suzie) Morrow, two children, daughter Christy (Jasperson) Maxwell and son William (Billy) Blackwell, and three stepchildren, Leah (Riffero) Reindl, Daniel Riffero, and Margaret (Meg Noonan) Clear. He loved his thirteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, considering them his greatest joy.
Greg is also survived by three sisters, Eileen (Jasperson) Newton, Rhonda (Jasperson) Truesdale, and Jennifer (Jasperson) Hyland, and leaves behind five nephews, two nieces, and a grandniece.
In lieu of flowers or money, the family would like you to consider donating to the Monarch Children's Justice and Advocacy Center, or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
