Marlene Lorraine Barrett

Nov 5, 1956 — Sep 23, 2026

Marlene Lorraine Barrett (Gallagher) passed away on September 23, 2026, at the age of 69, surrounded by love.

If you knew Marlene, you knew there was rarely a dull moment. She was funny, goofy, and almost unbelievably positive. No matter what life threw her way, she somehow managed to find the bright side. She had a wonderful sense of humor, a big heart, and a way of making the people around her smile.

Family meant everything to Marlene. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and, most importantly to her, Gram. She adored her grandchildren and loved them fiercely. She was always there for the people she loved, and there was never any question about how much they meant to her.

Marlene had a love for life and a spirit of adventure. She loved traveling, especially anywhere near the ocean, and was always up for another adventure. She also loved the simple things: tending to her flowers, spending time in the garden, road trips with her dad and spoiling her beloved dogs. Whether she was exploring somewhere new or enjoying the comforts of home, she found happiness in the little things.

Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Barrett; her mother, Rosemary Gallagher; and her brother, Garney Gallagher.

She is survived by her father, Roy Gallagher; her son, Matt Barrett and his wife, Maegan; her grandchildren, Jaden Brock and Cameron Barrett; her siblings, Marian Craig, Don Gallagher and Fred Gallagher; and their spouses, Tom Craig, Rose Marie Gallagher and Lisa Gallagher. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Marlene leaves behind a family who will miss her more than words can say, a lifetime of memories and adventures, and a pretty good lesson for the rest of us: love your people fiercely, laugh often, find something to be happy about even when it's hard, and never stop looking forward to the next adventure.

And now, Marlene is off on her greatest adventure yet, her forever adventure with Jesus.
