Melissa Mariah Brehmeyer (née Mattocks)

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Melissa Mariah Brehmeyer (née Mattocks) who left us unexpectedly on June 8, 2026 at the age of 33. She is mourned by her husband, Cody Brehmeyer, her parents, Arthur and Lynn Mattocks, her siblings, Remy Mattocks (Kristine), and Amanda Keahey (Timothy), and the many friends and family who loved her.

Melissa was born on Dec 2, 1992. She was a joyful and fearless child. In high school she pursued an education in Culinary Arts and the medicine profession at the New Market Skills Center where she earned her nursing assistant certification and met her future husband, Cody. After graduation she worked at nursing homes, volunteered at an animal hospital, and studied to become a veterinarian assistant. Melissa earned her Medical Assistant degree at Everest College and subsequently worked at local gastroenterology clinics. On Oct 6, 2018, she married Cody Brehmeyer. They shared 15 years together.

Melissa loved animals, baking, and using her creative gifts to make costumes for events and renaissance fairs. She was an avid Lord of the Rings fan, an advocate for love and justice, and an outspoken critic of the diet industry.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
