Rebecca Irene Nash (Becky),72, of Olympia, WA passed away peacefully in her home on July 22nd, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

Becky was born in Yakima, WA to Bill and Helen Wylie. She grew up in Tacoma and graduated from Stadium High School. Then earned a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Bates Technical College and worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital for 9 years. She attended First Baptist Church of Tacoma, where she met the love of her life, Phillip Nash, before kindergarten. They fell in love in their late twenties and were married on October 10th, 1981, and moved to Olympia in 1985, where they raised their three children and became members of Olympia First Baptist Church. Teaching children was Becky’s calling in life. She worked as a preschool teacher at Westwood Preschool in Olympia for 24 years and also helped teach Sunday School at Olympia First Baptist.

Becky had a true servant’s heart and did everything for her family! She loved planning and making family parties memorable, especially hosting Thanksgiving and Easter. Family time was her favorite time. She was the family photographer, never missing an opportunity to snap a picture or take a video. She loved watching her children play sports and then attending her grandchildren’s games, activities, as well as reading books to them. She enjoyed traveling with her family, camping, and watching sunsets at the beach.

Becky’s faith in Jesus Christ guided her life and compelled her to love and serve God by serving others. Her faith sustained her through all the joys of being a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt as well as the heartbreak of tragically losing her husband of 31 years and her courageous three-year battle with cancer.

Becky Nash was preceded in death by her husband Phillip, parents Bill and Helen Wylie, and is survived by her three children Jerry (Ericka) Nash, David (Sara) Nash, and Sarah (Luis) Matos; her grandchildren Wylie, Phoebe, Tucker, Zoey, Reese, Nora, and Luca; and her five siblings; Harriet (Jeff), Margaret (Philip), Doug, Byron (Armina), Jean (Barb); her brother-in-law Steve (Brenda) Nash and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, September 19th, 2026, at Olympia First Baptist, 904 Washington St. SE, Olympia, WA 98501.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Olympia First Baptist Church.
