Elizabeth Leigh Pressly

Jan 15, 1958 — Jul 19, 2026

Elizabeth Leigh Pressly, 68, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026. Born January 15, 1958 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina she was the daughter of Sarah “Sally” Tucker Pressly and George William Pressly III.

Eizabeth grew up in Charlotte where she attended Myers Park Presbyterian Church and Charlotte Latin School. Locally, she studied art under the late, renowned Elizabeth Ross at Central Piedmont Community College.

In her adult years, she joined Mouzon United Methodist Church (now Woodlawn Community Fellowship) where she was an active and cherished member of the congregation for many years.

Elizabeth was a devoted daughter, sister, niece, cousin, aunt, and great aunt who always remembered and commemorated special milestones and achievements for all. She cared for others with heartfelt sincerity and expressed this through original works of art, handwritten notes, small gestures, homemade treats, and time catching up. Staying connected with friends and family was her passion, and she inspired her loved ones to carry on this thoughtful quality in their own relationships.

She was known as the heart of information, the one everyone went to when they wanted to find out the happenings of everyone else in the family. Many have been touched by the light and love she shared through a quiet and steady presence. Even those unknown to her likely felt the rhythm of her frequent visits to shops and restaurants not far from her neighborhood off Selwyn Avenue.

Elizabeth is survived by her siblings, William “Buck” Pressly (Kathy) of Charlotte, Sarah Pressly of Asheville, and George Pressly (Rebecca) of Charlotte. She is also survived by nephews Edwin Martinat (Mark), George Martinat, John Pressly (Amanda) and Bo Pressly, and nieces Tucker Stine (Jay), Katie Raborn (Joey), and Drew Brookbank (Spencer) along with several great nieces and nephews. Many cousins and aunt Betty Dale Archer of Charlotte are also among her surviving family members.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved cat Moose.

A memorial service for Elizabeth will take place at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Home on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 11am at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Boulevard, Charlotte, NC 28203.
