Laura Jane Petty

Laura Jane Petty, 56, of Indian Trail, North Carolina, passed away on June 17, 2026, in Charlotte, with her two sons, Jake and Billy Barrett, by her side. Born on March 10, 1970, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Laura lived a life marked by compassion, devotion, and quiet strength.

Laura was a gifted nurse and caretaker whose kindness touched everyone she met. She brought the same warmth and steady care to her work that she gave to her family, and she was deeply proud of the life she built with those she loved most.

Above all, Laura was the loving mother of Jake and Billy Barrett. They were the center of her world, and she poured her heart into guiding, supporting, and loving them every day. She was also a devoted daughter, spending many years near the end of her life caring for her father, Jerry Petty, and her mother, Audrey Petty, both of whom preceded her in death.

Laura shared her home and her heart with her two great danes, Tank and Jazzy, who were faithful companions and brought her great joy.

Laura is survived by her sons, Jake and Billy Barrett; her siblings, Mary Key (Jeff), Kate Boyd (Robert), and Scott Petty; and by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026 11am. Visitation will begin at 10am, at Hankins and Whittington, 1111 East Blvd, Charlotte, North Carolina
