Staff Sargent Joel Mangum Threatt 67, passed away on August 11, 2026 in Brunswick County, NC. He was born on July 27 , 1959 to Jack and Juanita Threatt.

Joel graduated from Olympic High School , following high school Joel enlisted into the United States Army, and served 20 years active duty and retired from the Army in 1994. Joel in his spare time would love to ride his Harley Davidson. When not riding, Joel enjoyed spending time with his family , and fishing. He was a simple man.

Joel was preceded in death by both parents Jack and Juanita Threatt, infant daughter Linda Michelle Threatt, and his sister Jenny Threatt.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of the home they shared together Beverly Threatt; Daughter Krystal Gregory, Grandson Joel Alexander Gregory, Granddaughter Savannah Lynn Gregory; and a host of cousins and very close friends.

A funeral service will be held on Monday August 17, 2026 at 11:30am at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service 1111 East Blvd. Charlotte , NC 28203. Visitation will begin at 10:30am. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery 4601 Freedom Drive , Charlotte NC 28208.
