Betty Janet Lopez McKinney

Betty Lopez, age 35, of Salinas, California, passed away after battling cancer. Born on May 8, 1991, in Salinas, Betty was the beloved daughter of Jose Raymundo Lopez and Nancy Zulema Lopez.

Betty earned her Associate of Arts degree in Psychology from Hartnell College and worked as an Office Assistant for the Monterey County Department of Social Services. 

Betty was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who was known for her dedication and kindness. She cherished spending time with her nephews and pets, and she enjoyed shopping and strolling along Fisherman’s Wharf in Monterey with her mother and sisters. A devoted Christian, Betty found comfort and peace in her faith and in attending a local women’s Bible study group. Betty courageously battled cancer for many years with a fighting spirit. During her final days, she found strength and comfort in the loving presence of her father and brother, who prayed over her and surrounded her with love and faith. Betty’s life was a blessing to all who knew her and she will be deeply missed.

Betty is survived by her loving parents, four siblings, two nieces, and three nephews. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her loving heart, enduring faith, and the joy she brought to those around her.
