Juan "Tony" Martinez 

November 1, 1960 – August 3, 2026

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Juan Antonio Martinez, age 65, of Salinas, California, who passed away peacefully of natural causes.

Juan was raised in Salinas and attended Salinas High School and Hartnell College. During his life, he also lived in Reno, Nevada, before returning to Salinas. He built a long and respected career with Merrill Farms, TEC Equipment, Cummins, and Republic Services Equipment, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Juan shared 46 loving years of marriage with his wife, Janina E. Martinez. He found his greatest joy in spending time with family, especially playing poker and hunting with his boys. He was also a faithful member of St. Joseph Church.

Juan is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Janina E. Martinez; his son, Anthony Martinez; his son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Cindy Martinez; his brother and sister-in-law, Felipe and Rosario Dominguez, and sister-in-law Socorro Dominguez; seven cherished grandchildren; six nieces; four nephews; two aunts; one uncle; and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Yolanda Dominguez Martinez, who passed away on December 15, 2009, and by his brother, Juan Manuel Dominguez, who passed away on September 29, 2004.

Juan will be remembered for his love of family, his hardworking spirit, and the kindness and integrity with which he lived his life. He leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and lasting memories that will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved him.
