Kathy Ladean Carson

Apr 24, 1954 — Sep 26, 2026

Kathy Ladean Carson, 72, passed away on September 26, 2026, in Salinas, California. She was born on April 24, 1954, in Watsonville, California.

Kathy was a proud member of the medical community, an accomplishment that meant a great deal to her in her life. She truly valued the patients entrusted to her care and loved to dote on them. Making sure her patients felt cared for, comfortable, and important came naturally to Kathy. Her work was much more than simply a job; it was something she took tremendous pride in and a reflection of the caring person she was.

Kathy loved country music, and no one knew how to play to her heart quite like her soulmate and the love of her life, "Buddy" Palmer Wheeler. Whenever he had the chance, Buddy would play the music she loved, creating moments between them that Kathy treasured. Their love shared a rhythm all its own, and the music and memories they made together remained close to Kathy's heart.

Kathy was preceded in death by her beloved Buddy; her parents, Bonnie Carson (Banning) and Arthur Carson; her sisters, Phyllis Carson and Sharon Benini (Carson); her brother, Michael Carson; and her sons, Johnny Majan III and Terry Majan.

Kathy is survived by her daughter, Amy Majan, grandchildren, Anicca, Anthony, Isabel and Kaylee and three great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her brothers, Gary Carson (Alexis), Dennis Carson (Lana), and Arthur Carson; her nephew Robert Williamson (Georgia); her niece Stacey Elias (Leonard); her nephews and nieces Bruce Carson, Arthur Jack Carson, Robert Williamson Jr., Adrian Panis and Scott Carson; Stephanie Panis, SallyAnn Swol, Kimberly Panis, along with great-nephews and nieces Kaiyden, Mason, Jazper, Jessy, Moziah; as well as other members of her extended family and dear friends, both near and far.

A list of names and dates could never fully capture Kathy's life or the place she held in the hearts of those who loved her. Family and friendship mattered deeply to her. Whether someone was near or far, Kathy carried the people she loved with her.

She will be remembered for the pride she took in caring for others, for her love of country music, for the special love she shared with Buddy, and for the memories she leaves with the family and friends who knew her best.

Kathy believed in Jesus and carried that faith with her throughout her life.

While our hearts are heavy in saying goodbye, we find comfort in knowing that Kathy is no longer in pain. We know she is now at peace, in the presence of Jesus, and reunited with those she loved who went before her.

Though Kathy is deeply missed, there is comfort in knowing that the music she loved, the stories that will continue to be told, and the memories shared by those who loved her will keep a part of her with us.

Kathy's song may have ended here on earth, but her life continues with Jesus, and the love and memories she left behind will continue to play in our hearts.
