Manuel Alvarado
Jan 15, 1947 — Sep 22, 2026
Our beloved Manuel C. Alvarado passed away peacefully surrounded by his closest loved ones on September 22, 2026. Manuel was born to E.B. and Marcela Alvarado of Spreckles, CA. on January 15, 1947.
Manuel is survived by his dearwife of 56 years, Florence Pena Alvarado of Salinas, and their daughter Rena Diane Perez. His brothers David, Ismael "Smiley", and Steve Alvarado; his sisters Mary "Kathy" Vargas, and Virginia Gonzales. Manuel was also a proud Grandfather of three girls Ava, Mya, and Gia Perez of Prunedale, CA. His many nieces and nephews will also miss their "Tio Manuel" very much, he was so close and proud of them all.
Manuel worked for Kuhlman Electric and later for Quinn CAT Co. in Salinas. He eventually retired and had the time to dedicate to "his girls". He always had a hobby of some sort, whether it was collecting sports memorabilia or going to the casinos with his brothers-in- law's Jorge Vargas and Oscar Valdez. He had traveled the world from being stationed in Germany to relaxing in Italy, yet he always preferred a good family gathering. Manuel was always ready to host a Superbowl or simply catch a Giants game for fun. He also served in the Vietnam War shortly after graduating from Salinas High School. Manuel made far too many memories to list with each of his loved ones and was always excited to share stories from the past. He will be remembered by his friends and family for his witty sense of humor and heart of gold.
Gone but never forgotten, The man, the Myth, the Legend our Manuel. Family will send Manuel Off with a traditional military funeral service on Oct. 9, 2026, at 2pm at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Prunedale, CA., followed by a memorial celebration at the American Legion also in Prunedale, CA.
