In Loving Memory of
Maria Antonia Matamoros
February 26, 1946 – July 4, 2026
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Maria Antonia Matamoros, born in Weslaco, Texas. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
Maria’s life was a beautiful reflection of love, strength, and devotion. Her greatest joy was her family, and she gave herself wholeheartedly to those she loved with a caring heart and unwavering support. She will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity, warm spirit, and the countless cherished memories she created with those closest to her.
Maria’s love extended far beyond words. She had a special way of making everyone around her feel valued and cared for. The lessons she taught, the love she shared, and the memories she leaves behind will continue to live on in the hearts of her family for generations to come.
Maria was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Maria Trevińo, husband, Bonifacio Matamoros; her sister, Celia Quintanilla; and her brother, Raul Quintanilla.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth, and son-in-law, Pete; her grandchildren, Pete “PJ” Amaro, Vanessa Amaro, and Naomi Vazquez; and her beloved great-grandson, David E. Vazquez (Dev) whom she adored dearly. She is also survived by her brothers, Samuel Maldonado, Juan Patino, and Gregory Ayala; her sister, Paula Ayala; and extended family and friends whose lives were touched by her love.
Although she is no longer with us, Maria’s memory will remain a blessing. Her love will continue through the family she cherished and the many lives she touched.
Rest peacefully, Mom. You will forever be loved, missed, and remembered.
