Marilyn Anne McCoun

Marilyn (Comisky) McCoun, 80, longtime resident of Prunedale, passed away on June 10, 2026 in Salinas. She was born on October 7, 1945, in San Francisco, CA, where she was raised and later met and married her husband of 58 years, James (“Jim”). After living several years in San Jose, they settled in Prunedale for the past four decades. After retiring from a career in insurance, Jim & Marilyn enjoyed travelling throughout the US and overseas. She was a member of the Madonna del Sasso parish. Marilyn is survived by her sons, Phil McCoun and Paul McCoun (Melissa), grandson, Evren McCoun, sister Terry Sommerauer, brother John Comisky, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband James, brother Hugh Comisky, and daughter, Jennifer McCoun. 

Viewing and Rosary: July 8, 2026, 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm at Healey Mortuary 405 Sanborn Road in Salinas. 

Mass: July 9, 2026, 1:00 pm at Madonna del Sasso Church 320 E. Laurel Drive in Salinas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests an offering in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
