Valerie Ann (Moon) Legault

Valerie Ann (Moon) Legault was born December 11, 1958, at Camp Wolters, Texas, to John and Carmelia Moon. She died August 29, 2026, in Salinas after a brief illness. 

Valerie attended local schools in Salinas. She taught herself to crochet and enjoyed making her holiday wreaths and decorations. She liked playing backgammon and bingo as well as buying lotto scratchers. She was often quite lucky in winning much more than she spent. 

Valerie was very interested in genealogy research. She was successful in her research and found several family members. 

Valerie is survived by her son, Andrew Mallari, and her grandson, Alexander Mallari; her sisters, Candy Moon-Hamilton, Kathy Moon, and Karen Norris; nephews Michael, Eric, and Brandon; nieces Dawna, Amanda, and Jillian. 

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jessica Mallari-Glynn; niece Frannie Moon-Hamilton, and her parents.
