Barbara Franciosi

Dec 18, 1939 — Mar 16, 2026

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Barbara Franciosi, née Tango, who departed this life on March 16, 2026, in Warner Robins, Georgia, at the age of 86. Barbara was born on December 18, 1939, in Paterson, New Jersey, and was a 1958 graduate of Montclair High.

Barbara was the beloved daughter of the late Anthony Tango and Carmella Ruggiero Tango and cherished sister to Marion Tango, Rosalie Nicastro, and Vincent Tango, all of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her three devoted children, Lisa Snipes (John), Lynne Franciosi, and Lainie Zink (Dustin). Barbara was also a proud grandmother to her six grandchildren, Chris Snipes (Nicole), Samantha Zino (Kenneth), Alex Franciosi (Bailey), Jessica Long, Patrick Zink, and Noelle Zink, as well as nine great- grandchildren.

Barbara was a 20+ year breast cancer survivor and a supporter of St. Jude Children’s Hospital. In professional life, she was a loyal employee of Payless Shoes, where she served as Assistant Manager for several years. As a young adult, Barbara had a passion and a talent for bowling. More recently, she enjoyed Bingo and trips to casinos with her friends. The most treasured moments, though, were spent with her family, simply visiting and catching up on the latest life stories. Family was the primary focus of Barbara’s life, and she adored her grands and great-grands.

Known as Babe to her siblings, Barb to friends, Mom to her children and Grandma Chosi or Mommock to the grands, none doubted the depth of her love for them. In the words of those who loved her, Barbara was their biggest fan and was always there to lean on. Her conversations always ended in “Love you.” She will be greatly missed. Rest in peace, Mom, “Love you."
