Curtis Cliett
Apr 21, 1953 — Jul 2, 2026
A Beautiful Journey
"The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want." Bro. Curtis Cliett was born to Mildred Jackson Cliett and Roy Cliett on April 21, 1953, in Powersville, Georgia.
Curtis became a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Powersville at an early age. After leaving the Powersville area, he later returned to his home church, where he faithfully served as an active and devoted member until his Heavenly Father called him home. Curtis was reared in Powersville, Georgia, and attended the public schools of Peach County. He graduated from Peach County High School with the Class of 1971.
From an early age, Curtis displayed qualities that would define him throughout his life. He deeply loved his family, and his passion for nature and the outdoors was cultivated during his childhood adventures exploring the woods around Powersville. Those experiences created treasured memories and stories that he would lovingly share for years to come. His caring spirit was also evident in the way he nurtured and looked after his younger siblings as the oldest child.
Following graduation, Curtis enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1970 and proudly served four years of active duty. After his military service, he began working for Blue Bird Body Company, where he remained until retiring in 2009. Following retirement, he started his own construction business, continuing his strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit.
On Thursday, July 2, 2026, Curtis peacefully entered eternal rest at Atrium Health in Macon, Georgia, surrounded by the loved ones he held close to his heart.
Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Cliett and Mildred Jackson Cliett; his son, Sheldon Antonio Cliett; great grandson, Khyree Kerron Harvey; his sisters, Katherine Northerns and Rosalyn Cliett; and his brother, Edward Cliett.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his children: Pamela (Anthony) McCray and Benita Cliett (Joe Bailey); grandchildren: Brianna Wynn, Tanisha Womack, Sheldon Jerrod Curtis Cliett, Kaliel McCray, and Bryce McCray; sisters: Virginia Dixon, Vanessa Smith, Valerie Durham, and Tangela Cliett; brothers: Steve (Brenda) Cliett, Eric Cliett, and Gregory Cliett; a devoted cousin, Jean Durham and a devoted friend, Finnely Clark; and a host of nieces and nephews, friends and family.
