Danny Eugene Knowles

Danny Eugene Knowles, of Georgia, passed away on August 25, 2026, in Macon, Georgia, at the age of 72. He was born on March 14, 1954, in Perry, Georgia.

Danny built a life marked by hard work, skill, and service. He served his country in the United States Air Force, and he went on to become a master auto mechanic. Over the years, he earned the respect of many through his knowledge of his craft, later retiring from auto mechanic work after a long career. He also shared that knowledge with others by teaching auto mechanic classes at Central Georgia Technical College, helping pass along his experience to future generations.

Outside of his work, Danny enjoyed the things that brought him excitement, peace, and joy. He drove race cars and loved NASCAR. He also enjoyed fishing and held a deep love for God, which was an important part of his life.

Above all, Danny will be remembered by the family he cherished. He is survived by his children, Danielle Purvis (Shane), Shirley Knowles, Dr. Mariah Knowles, James Knowles (Ciara), Kristina Cook (Justin), and Jasmine Edwards (Matt). He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Dustin, Hal'ey, Han'na, Everly, Serenity, Caleb, and Brayden, as well as his great-grandchildren, Baylor, Bristol, Grayson, and Abel. Danny is also survived by his brothers, William (Jennifer) Knowles, Jere (Twila) Knowles, and close friend of 54 years, Susan Wright. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Augley and Margie Kaufman; and brother, Wayne Knowles. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him, loved him, and shared in his life.

Visitation will be held on August 29, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory, 701 Carl Vinson Parkway, Warner Robins, Georgia 31093. A funeral service will be held on August 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory, 701 Carl Vinson Parkway, Warner Robins, Georgia 31093. Interment will follow at 12:15 p.m. at Parkway Memorial Gardens, 720 Carl Vinson Parkway, Warner Robins, Georgia 31093.
