It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Cruz Gillespie, who left us on September 18, 2025, in Warner Robins, Georgia. Born on April 11, 1965, in Panama, Central America, Elizabeth’s life was defined by kindness, humor, humility, and love, qualities that touched everyone who knew her.
A visitation to honor Elizabeth will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at The Assembly, 6040 Watson Blvd, Byron, GA 31008. Immediately following, a Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2:00 PM at the same location. Elizabeth will be laid to rest at Parkway Memorial Gardens, where her memory will live on among family and friends.
Elizabeth devoted many years of her life to serving at Robins Air Force Base, where she worked as a kitchen aide. She carried out her work with dedication and warmth, nourishing others not only with meals, but with her generous spirit. Beyond her work, she found peace and joy at the beach, where she loved spending time surrounded by the beauty of nature and the simple pleasures of life.
Elizabeth was a selfless woman, full of love and beauty, always looking out for others before herself. She cared deeply for the elderly and the sick, often going above and beyond to ensure they felt comfort, dignity, and compassion. Her exemplary life served as an inspiration to her cherished son, Ernesto A Candanedo Cruz. Through her example, she instilled in him the values of courage, kindness, and true Christian faith, principles that continue to guide his life today.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Sofia Sanchez Batista. Along with her son Ernest, she leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and devotion that will continue to influence all who knew her.
In this time of mourning, we invite all who knew and loved Elizabeth to gather together to share memories, celebrate her life, and honor the legacy of a remarkable woman who touched so many hearts. She was our angel on earth, a radiant star that shines even in the darkest moments, reminding us of God’s eternal love.
