Richard Lamar Wood

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Richard L. Wood.

Richard Lamar Wood, 72, of Centerville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026, at Emory Hospital in Warner Robins, Georgia. He was born on October 25, 1953, in Macon, Georgia, to Jack and Anna Wood.

Richard was a hardworking man who dedicated many years of his life to his career. He worked for Coca-Cola for approximately 18 years before beginning a long and dedicated career at Robins Air Force Base, where he worked for 25 years before retiring. He took great pride in his work and in providing for those he loved.

Richard enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, and cars. He cherished the time spent enjoying these interests. Above all, Richard loved the Lord and sought to keep his faith at the center of his life. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Warner Robins, Georgia.

Richard will be deeply missed by his wife; Debbie Wood, his sister, Gloria Jones; his children, Jacob Shane Wood, Jason Lamar Wood (Wendy), Jeremy Travis Wood (Amanda), and Lucas Ramsey Walker (Taylor); his grandchildren, Alexis Wood, Bailey Simms, Colby Wood, Ainsley Wood, Lila Walker, Ryleigh Walker, Ayla Wood, and Paxton Wood.

Richard will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of the outdoors, his appreciation for cars, and most importantly, his love for the Lord and his family. Though he is no longer with us, the memories he created and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

May he rest peacefully in the presence of his Lord and Savior.
