Sharon Lee Yeomans

Oct 2, 1951 — Oct 15, 2026

Sharon Lee Yeomans, 75, passed away on October 15, 2026, leaving a legacy of faith, love, and devotion to her family.

Born on October 2, 1951, in Franklin, Georgia, Sharon was the daughter of Ollie Lee Knott and Julia Francis Knott. She was raised in Macon, Georgia, alongside her three brothers, Kenneth, Norman, and Barton. She began her career as an entry-level telephone operator at BellSouth. Through hard work and determination, she earned multiple promotions throughout her career before eventually retiring.

In 1969, Sharon eloped with George “Ricky” Yeomans in Aiken, South Carolina. Throughout their 57 years of marriage, they grew together in faith and built a loving family.

Sharon’s Christian faith was at the heart of her life. She was deeply devoted to the Lord and will be remembered for her beautiful, heartfelt prayers. Her faith inspired those around her and remains a source of comfort to the family she loved so dearly. She also found joy in gardening and watching hummingbirds. Affectionately known as “Meemaw,” she held a cherished place in the hearts of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Sharon is survived by her husband, George “Ricky” Yeomans; her daughters, Kendra Smith (Dallas) and Daria Galpin; her grandchildren, Nicholas Smith, Madison Meadows (Sawyer), Daniel Galpin, and John Galpin; three great-grandchildren; and her brothers, Kenneth Knott (Annette) and Norman Knott (Betty).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie Lee Knott and Julia Francis Knott, and her brother, Barton Knott.

While her family will deeply miss her, they find peace in knowing she is free from pain and at home with the Lord. Her prayers, her love, and the example of her faith will remain with them always.
