Susan Annette Songer

Apr 20, 1956 — Aug 5, 2026

Susan Annette Songer, age 70, of Centerville, Georgia, peacefully entered her heavenly home on August 5, 2026.

Born on April 20, 1956, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Annette was the beloved daughter of the late George Edward Taylor and Celia Elda Taylor (Sessoms). During her early childhood, she lived in San Diego, California, before her family moved to North Carolina and later settled in Rossville, Georgia. It was there that she met the love of her life, Dennis Songer, with whom she built a life centered on faith, family, and love. Annette graduated from Douglas Byrd High School as a member of the Class of 1974.

For more than 33 years, Annette faithfully worked as a bookkeeper, earning the respect of those around her through her dedication, integrity, and strong work ethic. While she took pride in her career, nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her family. She treasured every opportunity to create memories with those she loved and also enjoyed traveling, making cherished visits to Germany, Mexico, and Canada.

Annette was a devoted follower of the Lord Jesus Christ whose faith guided every aspect of her life. She was a proud member of Mount Carmel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and later attended The Assembly in Warner Robins, Georgia. Her church family held a special place in her heart, and she found great joy in worship, fellowship, and serving others.

Known for her kind heart, encouraging spirit, and unwavering commitment to her principles, Annette never met a stranger. She welcomed everyone with open arms and lived by the belief that "the more the merrier." She was often described as the cheerleader of her family, always offering words of encouragement, celebrating the accomplishments of others, and ensuring that everyone around her felt loved and included. Her genuine compassion extended beyond her family to her friends, neighbors, and anyone fortunate enough to cross her path.

Above all else, Annette was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, caring sister, and faithful daughter. Her greatest legacy is the love she poured into her family and the countless lives she touched through her generosity, hospitality, and steadfast faith.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Dennis Songer; her daughter April Manos (John); her son, Ryan Songer (Saskia); her grandchildren John Riley Manos, Jacob Manos, Vivian Songer, and Eli Songer. Also, her sister Linda Royal, her nephews Tim Royal (Tris) and Eddie Royal (Cassie) who were like sons to her. Annette also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends, all of whom she loved deeply.

In addition to her parents, Edward and Celia Taylor, Annette was preceded in death by her brother, George Edward Taylor Jr.

A Celebration of Life honoring Annette's life will be announced by the family at a later date.

Though she will be deeply missed, Annette’s family finds comfort in knowing she is now in the presence of her Savior, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her. Her legacy of faith, kindness, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
