Gretchen Eileen Dabney

Gretchen Eileen Dabney, 90, of Dunnellon, Florida, passed away at home on August 30, 2026. She was born June 27, 1936, in Kansas City, Kansas to Earl and Vivian (Wetmore) Ryan. Gretchen attended college in San Francisco. She managed two credit unions in Miami. She enjoyed collecting coins, solving puzzles and traveling, especially to Alaska and Hawaii.

Gretchen was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Robert Dabney; her sons, Jay Foote, Jr and Douglas Foote; her brothers, Alvin Appel and Raymond Ryan; and sister, Jeannine Rosenboom.

She is survived by Theresa  and Michael O’Neal, her daughter and son-in-law; grandchildren, Michael O’Neal, Jr., Cynthia O’Neal, and Heather Foote; great grandchildren, Shawn Michael O’Neal, Hailey O’Neal, and Michael Brigante; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service, with Chaplain John King officiating, will take place at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
