Linnea Marie Ellis, age 76, of Ocala, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, in Ocala, Florida.
Linnea was born on February 22, 1949, in Springfield, Massachusetts, to the late Marie Williams and Richard Fritz Jaillet. She went on to earn a degree in nursing and devoted her professional life to caring for children as a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit nurse, a role that perfectly reflected her compassion, strength, and unwavering dedication to others.
Above all else, Linnea cherished her family. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandchildren, creating memories filled with love, laughter, and warmth. She also loved traveling and cruising the world alongside her beloved husband, experiences they treasured together. Known as a friend to all, Linnea never hesitated to lend a helping hand—whether to a neighbor, a friend, or someone in need. Her kindness and generosity left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Linnea was preceded in death by her mother, Marie Williams, and her father, Richard Fritz Jaillet.
She is survived by her loving husband, Chesley Ellis Jr. of Ocala, Florida; her brother, Richard Anthony Jaillet III (wife Bonnie) of Pembroke, New Hampshire; her daughter, Lisa Anne Fredriksson (husband Peter) of Sweden, and grandchildren Alexandria Holt and Timothy Holt; her son, Thomas Matthew Jelneck (wife Shonte) of Lake Mary, Florida, and grandchildren Malia Lindenmuth (husband Mason) and Kaili Jelneck; her son, Bryan Michael Jelneck (wife Bonnie) of Hobart, Indiana, and grandchildren Ryan Brawley (wife Michele), Chase Jelneck, and Madison Jelneck; her daughter, Andrea Tuminiski of Georgia; and her son, Sean Ellis of Florida.
A funeral service will be held on January 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, with Father Patrick Sheedy, Pastor of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will take place at Florida National Cemetery at a later date and time to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in honor of Linnea’s lifelong dedication to caring for children.
Linnea Marie Ellis will be remembered for her compassion, selflessness, and the deep love she had for her family and community. Her legacy of kindness will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know her.
