Patricia Ann Jones

Patricia Ann Jones, 73, of Ocala, Florida, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on July 20, 1953, in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, Patricia attended some college before beginning her career as a telephone operator. She was a woman of quiet strength, kindness, and creativity. One of her greatest joys was cross-stitching, where she lovingly created beautiful handmade pieces that will forever be treasured by those who received them.

More than anything, Patricia loved her family. She found her greatest happiness in being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She cherished every opportunity to spend time with those she loved, creating memories that will be held close for generations to come. Her gentle heart, caring spirit, and unconditional love left an imprint on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Patricia is survived by her daughters, Shannon Smith (Andy Smith) and Tanya Garmley (Scott Garmley); her grandchildren, Brandon Jones and his children, Tzipporah Jones, Tzeva Jones, and Emyric Jones; Allissa Miller; Zackary Miller and his children, Haven Miller, Mia Miller, and Hamera Miller; Kyle Lay; and Demetri Lay, his wife, Ragan Lay, and their children, Colton Lay, Rylie Lay, Addyson Lay, and Braeleigh Lay. She was also blessed with many bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents William Schaefer and Katherine Bready, her brother, Bill Schaefer and her grandson, Kyle Lay.

She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will deeply miss her.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Patricia’s life on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services – TimberRidge. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., followed immediately by the funeral service, officiated by Bishop James McKinnon and Pastor Rose Washington of Lifeline Community Church, at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in knowing Patricia’s pain has ended and that she is at peace. Her love, compassion, and the memories she created with those she loved will forever remain in our hearts. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
