Richard S. Belculfine

Richard S. Belculfine, 85, Ocala, Florida, passed away peacefully July 9, 2026. He was born September21, 1940 in Worcester, Massachusetts. Richard graduated from Worcester Vocational Technical High School as a skilled cabinet maker. He enjoyed being a master carpenter. Nothing was impossible for him to make, fix or remodel when it came to his trade. He liked gardening and grew a variety of vegetables, did all the yard work and remodeling in his home in Worcester, MA. He was also a "jack-of-all-trades." He passed his knowledge on to his children, who are like their dad. He was a loving father and husband whose life revolved around his family and his job.

He was employed at Wyman & Gordon in North Grafton, MA, a forging industry making airplane parts, as a press operator. He retired after 30 plus years. After his retirement he and his wife moved from Worcester and built a new home in Ocala where they settled in and enjoyed another 30 plus years together. They enjoyed going on cruises, mostly to the Caribbean Islands. Later they began to enjoy going on escorted bus trips from Ocala to Biloxi, MS with Laura Kane Travel. Life was good. The children followed their path and moved to Florida. No matter where they were, Richard enjoyed spending family times when they were all together for holidays and special occasions, a 25th and 50th anniversary party, a going-away party from Massachusetts. There were also a few shared surprises, joining together in Biloxi, memories and stories that will be shared for years to come. Some years later the children relocated again, this time to North Carolina and Massachusetts.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t long after all the family had relocated that this wonderful man suffered several more years from strokes and dementia. Through it all he managed to stay strong and hold on to life. He enjoyed his life. He had the most beautiful heart-warming smile that he shared with everyone (whether he knew them or not). He will be remembered for that beautiful smile.

With the love and strength of his loving wife, he was never alone. From the onset of this debilitating disease, all of the children and grandchildren came, one at a time, to assist in whatever they could do to help. He also had some wonderful help with visits from a volunteer from Hospice. They received help from others along the journey who became friends and most of all, from faithful friends who have been with them for years. They gave the emotional strength to get through it all. They were always there to help, to lean on, and to listen. For the last year and a half of his life, Richard was fortunate to receive home health care assistance from Hospice of Marion County, which was a great help. Richard was able to remain at home until a week before he passed. The last week of his life was spent at EW and Lucille Cates Hospice House, where he received the care he could not have at home. That week was a blessing, giving Richard and his wife time to be together as his wife, not his caregiver. She was able to remain by his side, holding his hand as he had done for her over their 64 plus years together. The love felt that week will last a lifetime. The Lord knows all of the years he suffered. It was His time to take Richard to his new home in heaven where he will rest in peace.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Madalena (Aulizio) Belculfine; and his brother, Joseph Belculfine. His sisters, Jean, Judy and Carol survive him

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Kathleen (Mulcahy) Belculfine. They would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in February 2027. Also surviving are his sons, Richard A. Belculfine and his wife Connie and Michael J. Belculfine and his wife Tammy; and daughter, Diane J. Auger  and Ronald Joyner; grandchildren, Magen L. Auger, Samantha J. Belculfine, Alexandria Robidoux; and great-grandchild, Magnolia Robidoux. 

With tears in our eyes and fractured hearts, we will continue our journey on earth until we are together again. He will be missed by his family and friends more than he would ever imagine.
