Brooks Andrew Prairie

In Loving Memory of Brooks Andrew Prairie
Brooks Andrew Prairie, age 15 months, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on August 14, 2026, following a sudden cardiac arrest at home. He was the cherished son of Brietta Prairie and Steven Ruby. Brooks entered the world on a beautiful Mother’s Day, May 11, 2025, bringing an immediate and boundless light into the lives of his family.
During his 15 sweet months on this earth, Brooks, fondly known as “Brookie Cookie,” brought an abundance of love, pure joy, and laughter to everyone blessed to know him. He was a happy, vibrant little boy who loved to dance, especially jumping and lifting his hands in worship. His deep blue eyes, precious round face, and contagious giggles could instantly fill a room with joy. Though his time with us was far too short, the depth of love he gave and received will remain forever in the hearts of all who adored him.
Brooks was deeply loved and cherished by his mother, Brietta Prairie; his father, Steven Ruby; his stepfather, Matthew Jennings; and his stepbrother, Elias Jennings.
He is lovingly remembered by his maternal grandparents, Nathan and Leah Prairie; his paternal grandparents, Samuel and Alison Ruby; and his step-grandparents, David and Kathleen Jennings.
Brooks will also be lovingly remembered by his maternal aunts and uncles, Callista Benson and her husband, Caleb; Savannah Black and her husband, Gabe; Rhiannon Prairie; Dehlia Prairie; and Addison Prairie; his paternal aunt and uncles, Sammy Ruby and his wife, Sharon, and Stanley Ruby; and his step-aunts and uncles, Gabriella Jennings-Crouch and her husband, Noah, and Joey Jennings and his wife, Kayla.
He leaves behind his beloved cousins, Reed Benson, Everest Benson, Waylon Black, Arabella Ruby, Isaac Ruby, Evangelyn Crouch, and Jonah Crouch.
The Prairie, Ruby and Jennings families wish to extend their deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to the countless family members, friends, and neighbors who have surrounded them with love, prayers, and support during this incredibly difficult time. Your overwhelming kindness, compassion, and presence have provided comfort when it was needed most, and your love for Brooks and his family will never be forgotten.
