She was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, to Rita (McNally) and Henry Blethen, Joanne was the eldest of three siblings. She is predeceased by her parents, her brother, Henry Blethen, and sister, Norma McCarthy.

Joanne was much more than a successful businesswoman. She was a devoted wife, aunt, an exceptional cook, as well as someone whose warmth, generosity, and radiant spirit left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Whether gathered around her table or simply enjoying her company, family and friends were blessed with countless cherished memories that will endure for years to come.

She leaves behind her beloved husband of 30 years, Alfred Rousseau of Florida and Seabrook, New Hampshire. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Her stepson, Alfred Rousseau Jr. of Belleview, Florida, and her stepdaughter Rochelle Rousseau of Bellingham, MA. Joanne's legacy lives on through the family she loved so deeply. She is survived by her niece, Jennie Roy, of Springfield, Massachusetts; her nephews, Henry Blethen of Granby, Connecticut, and Steven Blethen of Atlanta, Georgia, with whom she shared an especially close and treasured bond. Though Joanne is no longer with us, her kindness, strength, and unconditional love will continue to inspire all who knew her.

At Joanne's request, there will be no formal services. The family plans to hold a private celebration of her life at a later date.
