Phyllis Jean Rowe
Dec 1, 1941 — Aug 23, 2026
Phyllis Jean Hoover Rowe of Ocala, Florida, passed away at home on August 23, 2026.
Phyllis was born on December 1, 1941, in Hamilton, Ohio, to Ethel and James B. Hoover. She was the ninth of ten children. She attended Ross School for all 12 years, graduating in 1959, and later attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio before moving to Florida in 1963.
Phyllis began her career in the accounting department at Singleton Packing Corporation, where she was later promoted to secretary to the vice president. After marrying and welcoming her first child, she stepped away from her career to devote herself to her growing family.
After moving to Ocala, Phyllis continued her education in accounting as well as earning licenses in building construction and real estate. Once her children were older, she entered the avionics industry and worked alongside a talented group of technicians. That experience led to the formation of Quest Avionics, Inc.
Through Phyllis’s hard work, determination, and entrepreneurial spirit, Quest Avionics grew into a successful business that operated at Ocala International Airport for 25 years until the team sold the company in 2017 and she was able to enjoy her well-earned retirement.
Phyllis is survived by her brother, Bradley Hoover; her daughter, Tamara Graham (Scott); her sons, Gregory Rowe (Terri), Ronald Rowe (Carla), her beloved grandson, Nicholas Graham, bonus grandchildren Danielle Rowe, Tory Rowe (Megha), Zach Sherman and Ingrid Hannawalt, as well as many nieces and nephews throughout Ohio, New Jersey, Germany and Florida.
Phyllis will be remembered for her strength, perseverance, and devotion to her family. Her accomplishments and the life she built will remain a lasting source of pride for everyone who knew and loved her.
A visitation service will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 9:00 Am-11:00AM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services in Belleview located at 5946 SE Robinson Road; a burial service will immediately follow at Pine Level Cemetery in Oxford, Florida.
