Brian A Cossin

May 4, 1964 — June 3, 2026

Brian A. Cossin, a devoted family man and respected professional, peacefully passed away at his home on June 3, 2026. Born on May 4, 1964, in Columbus, Ohio, Brian’s life was marked by quiet strength, intelligence, and a deep commitment to those he loved.

Brian dedicated much of his career to serving Marion County as a Field Appraiser with the Property Appraiser's office. His work demonstrated an unwavering sense of integrity and meticulous attention to detail that earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and community members alike.

Those fortunate enough to know Brian remember him as a very kind gentleman, embodying a steady reassurance that “the sky is blue, the grass is green, and everything in between is going to be okay.” He was a man of few words but profound wisdom, whose presence brought calm and confidence.

A lover of football with a special allegiance to the Miami Dolphins, Brian’s passion extended beyond the field. He had a voracious appetite for knowledge, particularly enjoying programs on the History Channel, forensic series, and classic television such as Columbo and The Big Bang Theory. His inquisitive mind also found joy in research, complimenting his naturally astute outlook on life. Brian was an avid mechanic who seemed able to fix almost anything, often diagnosing a problem simply by listening to a vehicle run. He had a lifelong love of automobiles, especially Ford trucks, Mustangs, and classic muscle cars. Whether he was working under the hood, restoring a vehicle, or talking cars with family and friends, his passion and knowledge were evident.

Brian was a wonderfully skilled handyman, always ready to apply his talents to help others. He held a special place in his heart for his beloved dogs, Koda and Bear, whom he affectionately referred to as his “furry babies.”

Brian is survived by his beloved wife, Dania Cossin; his children Teresa Hall, Bridget Orshal (and her husband Tye), Austin Neveau (and his wife Jasmine), and Rebecca Neveau; as well as his brothers Mark Cossin and Marty Cossin (and his wife Gwen); grandchildren, Daisy(Alex), Trenton, Cooper (Trinity), Rylee, Mason, AhShay, Elijah. His family circle further extends to numerous cherished nieces, and nephews who carry forward the legacy of his kindness and quiet strength.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David R. and Barbara Cossin, as well as his siblings Julie, Jeff, and Denise Cossin. He also mourns the loss of his daughter, Emilee Neveau.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Brian's life will take place on June 11, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Highland Memorial Park, located at 1515 Northeast 3rd Street in Ocala, Florida.

Brian A. Cossin’s life was a testament to steady dedication, heartfelt kindness, and loving devotion—a true gentleman whose memory will remain a calming presence for all who knew him.
