Gowkarran Jabar
Nov 24, 1963 — Jun 18, 2026
November 24, 1963 – June 18, 2026
Mr. Gowkarran Jabar, 62, better known as Boyie or Uncle Joey, of Las Lomas, Trinidad has passed away on June 18, 2026 at 5:34pm Eastern Time. Gowkarran was born November 24th, 1963 in Las Lomas, Trinidad, son of Ramroop Jabar and Baby Jaskaran. He married and is survived by Seema Parsotan. He is also survived by his son, Bradley Jabar, and the mother of Bradley, Theresa Sooker.
Gowkarran’s roots began at his father’s side working on their family farm in Las Lomas while attending school. As a young man, Gowkarran then took the chance of traveling to New York City where he built and established his empire of construction and real estate. After years of driving trucks and working construction, he founded and continued to operate his own construction company, Jabar Construction Corp. for over 30 years while also securing numerous real estate investments in the Queens, New York area.
As he would say with proud tears welling up, “…from waiting anxiously for a ride on a bull cart to go home after school as a boy to driving a Rolls Royce home as a man…” Gowkarran was a risk taker who came to America with $126 in his pocket given to him by his Mama, Baby. With hard work and perseverance through adversity, he was able to create a life that he and his family are proud of.
Gowkarran will be remembered for his adventurous love for cross-country driving trips, his large shoe collection, mostly Adidas, his interesting pocket-knives and machete collections, his sense of humor, his admirable love for animals and his knack for spotting opportunities for development.
Gowkarran will live on in our hearts forever.
We leave you with a favorite quote of his: "Aaye Bhee Akela Jaaye Bhee Akela" translating to "You entered this world alone and likewise you will depart this world alone."
