H. Dale Adams
December 6, 1952 — June 10, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of H. Dale Adams, 73, of Ocala, FL. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. Dale was born on December 6, 1952, in Logan, West Virginia to Holly and Madge Adams, who have preceded him in death and is survived by his three siblings, Karen Hoffman, Teresa Bass (Ernest), and Perry Adams (Carol). Dale graduated from Ocala High School, received a Bachelor's Degree from Florida State University, and a Master’s Degree from Rollins College.
He leaves behind his soulmate and best friend, Deborah Adams, his wife of 28 years. Dale has five beautiful children, who he leaves behind, Christen Goad (Reese), of Tallahassee, Stephanie Gilledo (John) of St. Cloud, April Adams of Ocala, Michael Adams (Amanda) of Tallahassee, and Jacob Adams (Caroline) of Tallahassee. Dale, also known as Papa, will be greatly missed by his large and loving family, which also includes his stepchildren, Coley “Camp” Campbell and Cristi Serina (Frank), and his many grandchildren Erin (Max), Kyle, Kendall, Ian, Ben, Jordan, Zachary, Emersyn, Ethan, Avery, Capper, Elliott, Macklin, HD (due in November), Cat, Wyatt, Ty, Maximos, Shelby, and Luca, along with several nieces and nephews.
Dale dedicated 30 distinguished years to the Ocala Police Department, serving his community with professionalism and integrity. Following his retirement, he remained deeply involved with the department, helping develop its pension program, working as the Planned Administrator for the pension program, continued to be a Reserve Officer, and trained thousands of new recruits for OPD. He also proudly continued his father's legacy by operating the family business, Adams Pest Control, carrying forward a tradition of hard work and service.
During his time of illness, it was apparent how much Dale was loved and respected, not only by his family, but by his friends, colleagues, and many in the community.
His absence will be felt everyday by those who knew him.
