Howard Shannon DeVaughn Jr., known as "Shannon," passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026, at the age of 63.

His loving family includes his devoted wife Dara, Mother Joyce Edwards, Brother(s) Rick (Kay) DeVaughn, Charles (Janet) DeVaughn and Sister, Sharon Crosby, Sons: Shannon James DeVaughn and Cody White. Daughter, Savannah Fountain and Grand-daughter Cora White. Many nieces and nephews. Precious and loyal companions(s) Elvis and Gucci.

He was preceded in death by his father Howard Shannon DeVaughn Sr, and his brother Donald DeVaughn.

Shannon was born on March 8th, 1963, in Jacksonville, Florida to a single mother that taught him the importance of education and following his dreams. He was the middle child of five siblings. He later moved to Ocala, Florida at the age of twenty-three pursuing his dream to become a successful businessman and entrepreneur and eventually exceeding his own vision for over forty years. He began with several automotive part stores in Ocala and the surrounding Tri-County areas. In 2008, he independently owned and operated Shannon's Foreign Car Services in Ocala, Florida for over eighteen years, prior to his courageous battle with cancer twice.

Shannon was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, brother, and grandfather. Shannon initially met his future wife in 1987 and after reconnection again in 2012, they were married on November 5th, 2017, and built a life filled with love, dedication and treasured memories. He was an avid nature and animal lover, passionate about golf, and his love of music in all genres was limitless. Both him and Dara enjoyed travelling, road trips, and attending auto shows.

His reputation, work ethics, and quality of service for the past eighteen years were of great importance to him, as well as his appreciation of the support from the community, customers, friends, and each of the dedicated men in the shop that he thought of as family.

His lifelong motto was "I ALWAYS TRIED TO DO THE RIGHT THING EVEN IF IT DIDN'T BENEFIT ME".
