In Loving memory of
Janet Shelton Howard
March 1, 1935 – June 27, 2026
Janet Shelton Howard, 91, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on March 1, 1935, in Cranberry, West Virginia, Janet lived a life rooted in faith, kindness, laughter and unwavering love for her family.
A faithful Christian, Janet’s life reflected her deep devotion to God and the values she held dear. She was known for her wonderful sense of humor, bringing smiles and laughter to those fortunate to know her. She found joy in creating beautiful works of art, gardening, cheering on the Florida Gators and spending time with her loyal dog, Milo.
Above all, Janet’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother whose love and guidance touched generations.
Janet was preceded in death by her beloved husband; James Howard, her daughter; Sandy Trauthwein, her grandsons; Dustin Toraya and Andrew Binegar, and the father of her children, James Trew.
She is survived by her four children, Sherrie Goolsby (Skeeter), Kathy Trew Binegar, Susan Trew and Bill Trew. Eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory and the many lives she touched.
Though she is deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she has been welcomed into her eternal home and reunited with those who went before her.
Her legacy of faith, love, strength, and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Matthew 25:23
