Jean Glenda (Van Slate) Corbeil, age 89, of Ocala, Florida, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025. She was born August 28, 1936, in Darby, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Priscilla and Glen Van Slate. Jean has joined her recently deceased beloved husband of 37 years, Robert Corbeil.
Jean is survived and missed by her children George Hammond, Linda (Frank) Faver, John (Diane) Hammond, Elizabeth (Michael) Updike, Aimee Muller, and Jean's stepsons Scott, Steve, Dean and Todd Corbeil, as well as her sister-in-law, Cynthia Kuemmel and their families. Jean was cherished and will be remembered by her eight grandchildren Jaimee, Michele, and Danielle, Corrie and Katie, Sarah, Joshua and Kylie, their families, as well as several great grandchildren.
Jean raised her children in the quaint town of Keeseville, in the Adirondack mountains of northeastern New York. She was the office manager and dental assistant at Dr. Solarski’s in Keeseville. She was co-owner and manager at the Tastee-Freez there.
Jean and Bob lived in Ocala, FL for 40 years. Jean was a homemaker and nothing gave her greater pleasure than sharing meals and laughter with her family. Jean and Bob loved traveling across the country in their RV, visiting family in the summers and enjoyed riding their Harley. They were members of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church of Ocala, FL.
Celebration of Life Services for Jean and Bob will be on Saturday, 11 am, 2/14/2026 coordinated by Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church 3453 E Silver Springs Blvd Ocala, FL 34470
