Margaret Burke

Margaret Burke, 84, of Ocala, FL, went to be with the Lord on August 21, 2026. Margaret was born on November 9, 1941, in Charlotte, NC, to her loving parents; Sherman and Anna (Messer) Harris.

Margaret was of the Baptist faith. She met the love of her life, James W. Burke in 1963, they got married in 1965, and the two relocated to Florida shortly after.

Before her retirement, Margaret worked as a nurse's assistant for almost 20 years. Her kind heart and caring nature made it easy for her to aid patients. She loved people, Margaret was a social butterfly and will be remembered for her tendency to never meet a stranger.

In her free time, Margaret enjoyed crafting and tending to her garden; she especially loved flowers.

Margaret will be missed dearly and remembered fondly for being a loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her children; Mary Johnson, Linda Burke and James Burke, and his wife Crystal, as well as grandchildren; Michael, Hailey, Payton and James, and a loving Publix family.

Margaret is preceded in passing by her husband of 32 years, James W. Burke, and her parents, Sherman and Anna Harris.
