Priscilla D. Suarez December 23, 1927 – April 22, 2026

Priscilla D. Suarez, 98, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2026. She was born on December 23, 1927, in Coamo, Puerto Rico, to Raphael Droz and Maria T. Seda.

On March 22, 1952, she married the love of her life, Roberto Suarez. Together they built a life rooted in family, faith, and service, raising their two daughters, Priscilla and Joan.

Priscilla earned a Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics from the University of Puerto Rico and began her career as a teacher in Vieques. During her husband’s service in the United States Army, the family lived in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and Fort Benning, Georgia. Upon returning to Puerto Rico, she worked as a floor supervisor at Warner’s Intimate Apparel factory in Guaynabo. In 1968, she retired from the workforce to devote herself fully to her home and family.

In 1978, Priscilla moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where she became an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, generously volunteering her time at the parish soup kitchen. In 1998, she relocated to Ocala, Florida, to be closer to family and to care for her mother. There, she was a devoted member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Marion Oaks, where she taught Sunday school and continued her lifelong commitment to serving others. She was also a member of the Franciscan Third Order.

Priscilla found joy in cooking, baking, sewing, gardening, and watching baseball—she was an especially devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs. Above all, she cherished her family and dedicated her life to caring for and supporting those she loved and her community.

She is survived by her daughters, Priscilla (David) and Joan (John); her grandchildren, Teresa, Amanda (Charles), Robert (Jessica), and Anna; and her great-grandchildren, Ava, Evan, Addalyn, and Arthur.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services in Ocala from 6pm to 8pm.  A Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church in Marion Oaks.

Her final resting place will be at Florida National Cemetery on Friday, May 1st at 10AM.
