OBITUARY

FOR ROBERT (BOB) KING

Born May 27, 1930, in Columbus, Indiana. Husband of the former Aletha Miller of Switz City, Indiana. They were married at the Switz City Baptist Church on October 15, 1950. Bob was the son of Marshall and Alice King of Switz City, Indiana and Mount Dora, Florida, both deceased. He was preceded by his wife of 72 years and brothers Marshall King of Lyons, Indiana, Raymond King of Vincennes, Indiana, and sisters Phyllis Epperson of Phoenix, Oregon, and Maxine Knoy of Worthington, Indiana. Bob served in the U. S. Navy submarine service. They have four children, eight grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren: Greg married to Carrie Howton — sons Jarrod married to Courtney Mandigo, parents of great-grandsons Colton and Cayson and great-granddaughter Callan and Brandt married to Lea Osteen, parents of great-granddaughter Kinsley and great-grandson Keaton; Brad married to Tammy Jackson — children Andrew married to Amber Lathrop parents of great-granddaughter Addie and great-grandsons Jack and Bradley. Brooke married to Taylor Keller parents of great-grandson Mason. Chase married to Rachel Horne parents of great-grandson Evan and great-granddaughter Ryleigh Ann. Caydee and Oliver; Brent married to Kathy Wyatt; Ginger married to Randy Jackson; parents of Ranger married to Valerie Alou parents of Charlie and Alexander. All live in Ocala except Ginger and Randy who live in Brevard, NC, Ranger and family who live in St. Petersburg, Florida, Andrew and family who live in Tallahassee, FL. He served a long-distinguished career with the independent telephone industry in Terre Haute, Indiana, Kansas City, Kansas, Fort Myers, Florida, Ocala, Florida and Altamonte Springs, Florida. He retired from Sprint's Florida senior management team in September 1993. Upon retirement Bob and Aletha joined the Baptist Mission Service Corp and served with Campers On Mission until the end of 2007. Shortly after retiring they sold their home on Lake Carlton near Tangerine, Florida and lived full time in a motorhome while building churches across the Continental United States and Alaska. Co-mingled with building churches they also served on Florida Disaster Relief teams during the hurricane seasons in Florida and North Carolina. Upon retiring from church building, they joined Child Evangelism Fellowship of Marion County and participated in the "Good News Club" at Ward Highlands Elementary School and Highlands Baptist Church Day Care. Since 1970 they have been active in The Gideons International. Of course, it goes without saying, that they have been active in their local church all their adult lives. Bob is a member of Wyomina Park Baptist Church in Ocala, Florida. The family requests that donations be made to The Gideons International (PO Box 2541, Ocala, FL 34478) in lieu of flowers.
