William Fletcher Duncan II, 76, of Ocala, Florida, passed away on September 17, 2026, following a long and courageous battle with cancer and the toll the disease and its treatments took on his body.

William, affectionately known as “Bill” to his family and friends, was born on April 22, 1950, in Charlottesville, Virginia, to Luther Pitts and Lola Duncan.

Bill moved to Ocala, Florida, in 1965, where he met his wife, Reah Duncan. The two were married on March 29, 1975, and shared 51 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised their two sons, Chad and Kevin Duncan, and built a life centered around family, love, and hard work.

In 1982, Bill founded the family business, Duncan’s Refrigeration, which was later taken over and operated by his sons, Kevin and Chad, under the name Bill Duncan’s Air Conditioning and Heating. Through their dedication and hard work, the family business became a staple in the Ocala community, carrying on the legacy Bill began more than four decades ago.

Above all else, Bill was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who treasured spending time with his family. He had a lifelong passion for automobiles and was an avid member of the Camaro Club. He enjoyed NASCAR, working on antique cars, and sharing his knowledge and love of automobiles especially with his son Kevin and grandson Cody Duncan. Cody spent much of his free time with his Papa, working on cars and bonding over their shared passion. Their time together created countless cherished memories and a special bond that Cody will carry with him forever. Throughout his life, Bill owned several classic cars and proudly built three award-winning vehicles.

Bill shared an especially close and cherished bond with his youngest granddaughter, Kynlee Duncan, playing an important role in her life. The two spent countless hours together, often sharing heartfelt conversations during their drives to and from school. Those everyday moments became treasured memories that Kynlee will carry with her forever. One memory she will always hold close to her heart is the day her grandfather picked her up on her last day of kindergarten in his prized 1969 Camaro. It was a special moment that perfectly captured their bond and Bill’s love of sharing his passion for cars with his family. To Kynlee, he was more than just her grandfather; he was a constant source of love, guidance, and comfort. Their special bond and the memories they created together will forever hold a place in her heart

Bill also shared a special bond with his grandson Caleb, who will always cherish the simple joy of his Papa bringing him McDonald’s every day. It was one of the many little ways Bill showed his love and created lasting memories with his grandchildren.

Bill also loved traveling in his RV, especially when accompanied by his grandchildren. Over the years, he took them on numerous adventures, creating cherished memories that will remain with them for a lifetime.

Bill is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Reah Duncan; his son, Chad Duncan; his daughter, Deanna, and her husband, Jack; Daughter-in-law Michelle, and his seven grandchildren: Michael, Amanda, Adrianna, John, Cody, Caleb, and Kynlee. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Karen Duncan; his nephew, Jason; and his great-niece, Kayleigh.

He was preceded in death by his cherished son, Kevin Duncan; his parents, Luther Pitts and Lola Duncan; and his brother, Luther Pitts Duncan Jr

Bill will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his passion for automobiles, his dedication to the business he built, and the countless memories he created with those he loved. His legacy will live on through his family, the business he founded, and the generations who will continue to carry his love and traditions forward.

A small, private graveside service will be held for immediate family. The family appreciates your love, prayers, and understanding as they gather to honor and remember Bill.
