Adelina Vargas Salubayba

Adelina Vargas Salubayba, 82, of The Villages, Florida passed away on August 27th 2026 in Gainesville Florida.

Adelina was born in Alabat Quezon Philippines to Bernardo Vargas and Purificasion Tarranco on August , 1944. She studied at Alabat Municipal High School. She graduated with a degree in Nursing from The Quezon Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1964. She married Nicanor Salubayba Jr. on October 5th 1968 in Lucena Philippines. She immigrated to the United States in 1972 and worked in the emergency room and then medical surgical floor. She then worked in the neonatal intensive care unit at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center for 36 years and retired to The Villages Florida at age 65 in 2010.

Adelina is survived by her husband Nicanor Salubayba Jr., children Maria Salubayba, Joan Guerrero (Salubayba) and Rio Guerrero, Nicanor Salubayba III, siblings Marieta Caparros Antona, Cadelaria Vargas, grandchildren Vincent Guerrero and Carina Guerrero.

Funeral services will be held at 10am, Tuesday September 15th in Wildwood Florida, Father Kenny Aquino, at St. Vincent de Paul Church. Arrangements are by Hiers Baxley Funeral Home.
