Edward R. Pearson
Jan 8, 1937 — Jul 28, 2026
Edward "Ed" "Eddie" Pearson, 89, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026. Born on January 8, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois, to Rosario and Mary Louise Pearson, Ed lived a life centered on family, hard work, service, and faith. He is now reunited with his beloved wife of 67 years, Marilyn Pearson, who preceded him in death on December 28, 2025.
Married in 1958, Ed and Marilyn shared a love that inspired everyone who knew them. Together they raised a loving family and built a life filled with love, friendship, and unwavering devotion to one another. Ed worked as a lather, later joined the Carpenters Union, and owned a successful construction business. He helped build many Chicago landmarks, including Water Tower Place. He also coached youth sports, volunteered with Boy Scouts, and served as a past Governor of Sertoma, supporting the deaf and hard of hearing community.
After raising their family in the Chicago area and later living in Palatine, Illinois, Ed and Marilyn retired to The Villages, Florida, where they enjoyed golf, billiards, and many treasured friendships. Ed was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; his parents; his son-in-law, William Taylor; and three siblings. He is survived by his brother, James Pearson; his children, Eileen Taylor, Daniel Pearson (Karen), and Wendy Gimino (Richard); his grandchildren, Jacqueline Reed, Leia Bradley, Nathaniel Taylor, Daniel Pearson Jr., and Sabrina Gimino; and nine great-grandchildren. Ed will be remembered for his kindness, integrity, quiet strength, and deep love for his family. His greatest legacy is the family he and Marilyn built together and the example of a life well lived and a love that lasted a lifetime.
