Richard Roma Charron

Richard “Dick” Roma Charron, age 79, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2026 with my aunt by his side. My

aunt held the phone to his ear so he could hear his daughter Laurie in his last few moments.

Richard was born on September 12, 1946 to Roma Giles and Yvette Theresa Charron in Barre Vermont. He grew up

in Ocala, FL where he enjoyed his time with his siblings. He loved his family.

He was the oldest of six children. Richard, Ronnie, Ray, Roberta, Robert and Randy. He attended Ocala High

School and moved from Florida to Ohio in his 20’s. Dick started pursing his career as an elevator mechanic in 1969.

He loved his job and had so many wonderful stories to share that would leave you laughing. He was extremely

proud to be an member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors. Dick was mechanically inclined and

took great pride in knowing how things worked and being able to fix them.

Dick married Judi Kaminiski on July 23, 1964 and they were together for 62 years creating countless memories over

the years. He was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren.. He is survived by his wife Judi, daughters

Laurie (C.J.) Valenti, Lisa (Chris) Bogdan, grandchildren Julia, Andrew and Connor, sister Roberta (Dan) Aggers,

brother Randy ((Nadine) Charron, sister-in-law Debbie Charron, multiple nieces and nephews. He was preceded in

death by his parents Roma and Yvette Charron, step-father Gerald Hooper, brothers Ronnie, Ray and Robert.

In his younger years Dick enjoyed lifting, biking, camping, riding motorcycles, playing golf and darts. He enjoyed

watching westerns, the news and loved listening to music. You would find him constantly singing to songs and

smiling. He had a great love for animals and helping those in need. He was an extremely proud Republican. He

enjoyed taking his grandchildren, nieces and nephews out on his boat and being a member of the Ocala Boat Club.

He loved telling stories and making people laugh with his unique sense of humor.

Dick’s memory will be forever cherished. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him. Rest

peacefully, Dick may the angels guide your way to eternal peace.
