Rose Marie Wachs

Rose Marie Wachs, 95, of Lady Lake, Florida, passed away on August 12, 2026.Rose Marie was born May 5, 1931, in Salisbury, North Carolina, to the late Zackarius Caneclides and Marie Caneclides. Rose Marie graduated from Queens College in Charlotte, North Carolina.

She married Charles Wachs on April 4, 1964, and they shared 62 years of marriage.

Rose Marie worked as a medical technologist at Mercy Hospital for 14 years. She later served as a supervisor and instructor of medical biochemistry at Creighton University for four years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Zackarius Caneclides and Marie Caneclides; her brother, Jack Caneclides Jr.; and her grandson, Sean Dortch.

Rose Marie is survived by her husband, Charles Wachs; her daughter, Angela Puckett (Michael); and her grandchildren, Chelsea Brierton (James), Michelle Puckett, and Kristina Puckett.

Rose Marie was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church for 30 years. Her Catholic faith was an important part of her life, and we entrust her now to the loving mercy of God.

Rose Marie’s life was a blessing to her family and friends, and the love she shared will remain in their hearts always. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends as they find comfort in the promise of eternal life and entrust her to God’s loving care.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Rose Marie’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. 

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace.

A Memorial Mass will be held on September 25, 2026 at 10:00am at St. Timothy Catholic Church, in The Villages, Florida.

Afterward, a celebration of life will take place from 12:00 to 3:30pm at the Mulberry Recreation Center, Rose Marie Room, 8445 SE 115th Mulberry Lane, The Villages, FL 32112.
