Barbara V. Burniston Brown

Mrs. Barbara Burniston Brown, age 89, a resident of Lakeland, passed away Monday. October 5, 2026, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center surrounded by family. Mrs. Brown was born January 10, 1937, in Providence, Rhode Island, to Wilfred Holland and Violet (Marsh) Burniston. Barbara was a Polk County resident since 2005 coming from Lakeville, Massachusetts. She was a retired High School English Teacher, member of Rainbow Girls and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed reading, gardening, exercising, cooking, baking, her dogs, and loved to spend time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband – Arthur Leon Brown, Jr. Barbara is survived by her loving sons – Chad W. Brown of Tampa, Florida & Theodore A. Brown of Lakeland, Florida; and grand dog – Bodhi. There are no services scheduled for Barbara at this time.
