Barbara Ann Lyons

Mrs. Barbara Ann Lyons, age 79, a resident of Auburndale, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Winter Haven Hospital surrounded by family. Mrs. Lyons was born December 15, 1946, in Ravenna, Ohio to John George and Mary Ann (Frank) Hammerle. She was a resident of Auburndale since the 1950’s coming from Ravenna, Ohio. Barbara was a retired Paraprofessional serving the Polk County Schools for 30 years. She was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church in Winter Haven and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Barbara enjoyed water skiing in her younger years, crafts, dancing, baking (strawberry pie) and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother – Richard Glenn Hammerle. Barbara is survived by her loving family, husband of 57 years – John Lyons; son – William “Bill” Lyons and wife Melinda; daughter – Ruth Ann Brzezinski and partner Matthew; sister – Mary Lou Evans and husband Rickie; grandson – Justin Noble Lyons and other extended family. Funeral services will be held 11am Thursday, September 10th at Kersey Funeral Home. Visitation will be held before services at 10am. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
