Bettie J. Baxley Rodriguez

Mrs. Bettie J. Baxley Rodriguez, age 87, a resident of Auburndale, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at Good Shepherd Hospice surrounded by family. Mrs. Rodriguez was born April 23, 1939, in Ashford, Alabama to Edgar and Daisy Irene (Pitts) Baxley. She was an Auburndale resident since the 1940’s coming from Alabama. Bettie was a homemaker and a caretaker. Her favorite things to do were bringing her daughter Penny home for visits, reading, going to yard sales, camping at Fort DeSoto and spending time with family. She was preceded in death by her parents; son – Michael Miller and brother – Gene Baxley. Bettie is survived by her loving family, husband of 48 years – Joe Rodriguez of Auburndale, Florida; 2 daughters – Cheryl (Moses) Weiring of Auburndale, Florida and Penny Miller of Winter Park, Florida; sister – Shirley (Bob) Mills of Gray, Tennessee; 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews & cousins. In keeping with Bettie’s wishes, there will be no viewing or memorial. She would like her cremains scattered with Penny when the time comes and they will join together again forever.
