Chester Emmerson Simmons, Jr.

Mr. Chester Emmerson Simmons, Jr. age 84, a resident of Auburndale, Florida, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2026, at home surrounded by family. Mr. Simmons was born January 5, 1942, in Jasper, Tennessee to Chester Emmerson and Sarah Elizabeth Simmons, Sr. He was a Polk County resident since the 1960’s, coming from Michigan & Tennessee. Chester was a retired Police Officer in Kalamazoo, Michigan and Corrections Officer for Polk City State Prison. He was a United States Veteran of the Army National Guard. Chester enjoyed watching TV, in earlier years riding his Kawaski 900 motorcycle and spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his parents. Chester is survived by his loving family, son – Chester E. (Jessica) Simmons, III; daughter – Cheryl (Bobby) Sanders; brother – Gary (Sharon) Simmons; sister – Joy (Don) Cannon and 6 grandchildren. There are no services scheduled for Mr. Simmons at this time.
